Whetstone's academic mentoring services go beyond traditional tutoring. We offer a comprehensive support system that empowers students to reach their full potential and make a seamless transition into the UK education system.

What’s included

You will have access to:

Weekly Tutorials

Every week, your child will have the opportunity to have a 30 minute catch-up call with their academic mentor. This is an opportunity to check-in on how the week has been and address any concerns or difficulties.

Reports & Tuition Reviews

The mentor will map your child's progress with detailed reports that highlight their strengths and areas for improvement against their school reports and those generated by any tutors. They will make sure the tuition is being used effectively and that it is producing the desired results.

Diagnostic Assessments

If required, the mentor will confer with tutors and, where appropriate, suggest diagnostic assessments for dyslexia or other SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities). They will then work with the school to help facilitate this process.

Parental Support

Our mentors are available to provide ongoing advice and support via WhatsApp as well as a bi-termly report and review session. They are more than happy to answer ongoing school-related questions, offer advice, keep you up to date with progress and help plan next steps.

Report Translations

We understand the challenges of language barriers. Our team can assist in translating and explaining academic reports, ensuring you have a clear understanding of your child's performance.

Yearly Reviews

You will have a detailed end of year review session with the mentor. These take place at the start of July (end of the Summer term) enabling you to plan for the following year and discuss ways in which the Summer holidays can be effectively used to nurture and benefit the student in their academic journey.
